Juicing seems to be a big thing these days, mainly for weight loss and easy digestion. It puts a lot less strain on the body to break down and absorb nutrients from liquids, and a lot of people have been known to go on juice cleanses to “wash the body out”. Coincidentally, juicing has more benefits than helping with digestion—it’s an easy way to get some of those fruits and veggies you need for healthy hair into your system. We’ve done a little research and found the most popular juice blends for healthy hair.
Apple and Carrot Juice
Possibly the simplest juice combo there is, and pretty tasty too, an apple/carrot blend is a great choice for beginning juicers. Apples contain B-complex vitamins that help stimulate the proteins in our body to grow hair, and antioxidants to help renew our already growing hair. Carrots are high in beta-carotene, which the body converts into Vitamin A, a necessity for healthy cells.
Thick Juice for Thick hair
Made with half a cucumber, five carrots, and one apple, this juice sounds a bit on the heavy side, but it’s said to help grow a thicker mane of hair. Along with the vitamins and nutrients in apples and carrots, cucumbers have a lot of benefits as well. They rehydrate the body, help to replenish many of the vitamins your body needs, and give you a quick pick me up.
Veggie Delight
Here’s another juice for those of you who sway more towards vegetables than fruits. Made with five carrots, half a cucumber, and half of a small beet, this juice will not only clean you out, but it promotes hair growth as well. As noted, juices are great for cleansing, help the body in digestion, and can even help boost your immunity pending on the ingredients. Plus, if you’re suffering from a few body aches, this juice will help sooth you a bit.
Triple Threat
Don’t let the name deter you, this next juice does anything but cause damage. Juice half a cucumber, one lemon, an apple, and three celery sticks. This blend is packed with minerals, especially silica, another necessary nutrient for every cell in the body, including your hair. Plus, this is a juice blend that will promote healthy skin, nails, and hair growth.
The Incredible Orange Hulk
This next juice blend won’t bulk you up, but if you drink enough of it, you might turn a little orange. Throw 3 carrots, 2 apples, half a lemon, and a little bit of ginger into a juicer, and you have a juice bursting with the nutrients your hair needs to grow. Plus, with a little added boost to your immunity, this is a nice daily juice to add into your diet just for the benefits.
Vitamin Spree
If you’re in it simply for health, then you may find this one interesting. Half a cucumber, one cup of kale, a lime, two celery sticks, one apple and a pear, and you have a juice blend bursting with Vitamins A, E, K, and C. That’s a ton of nutrients in one drink. You’ll be growing healthy hair, and it’s said that drinking leafy greens can really improve your vitality.
The Whole Enchilada
This last juice contains the most ingredients of them all, and the end result looks a bit odd, but it’s currently raving on the net. Made with beets, parsley, kale, and carrots, you can blend a couple of these together to get a fistful of nutrients and minerals for your hair. The cocktail doesn’t stop there though. Adding two teaspoons of liquid amino acids for protein absorption, a teaspoon of organic apple cider vinegar, two teaspoons of lemon juice, and a table spoon of nutritional yeast, you get a slightly chunky beverage. All you need to do is mix it up and drink.
Now, that’s not so bad is it? There are a lot of different blends you can try, just by looking at the list here. Many fruits and vegetables have the minerals you need for healthy hair growth. If you want to try something new, or like a little protein, try making a smoothie with some peanut butter or nuts. Tell us what you think, or share some of your favorite juice cocktails.
